Wonton soup is easy to make. It can be made as soup or appetizer as side dishes. The crispy texture of Wonton wrap is so light and "dry", not too oily. In my opinion -correct me if I am wrong- almost everybody loves Wonton soup. For Fried Wonton, I have put the recipe in another page (read: Fried Wonton recipe). The tricky part to make Wonton Soup is wrapping the wonton. For those who wants to learn how to wrap wonton, please see my basic tutorial on how to wrap Wonton. Try it! It's so easy.
Wonton Soup recipe:
- 10-15 peeled big Shrimp, minced.
- 1 tsp corn flour
- pinch of Salt, Pepper and 1 tsp of Soy Sauce
- 1 tsp Sesame oil
- 1 pack of Wonton Wrap
- 1/2 cup of water to "glue" the wrap

Just mix all ingredients and wrap them. Boil water and add 1 tsp sesame oil (to avoid wonton gets sticky or stick to each other). When fully cooked, the wonton color will be pinky (the color of cooked Shrimp). You may prepare Chicken Broth Soup in another cooking pan.
how to Cook Wonton Soup:
Usually, I make wonton with square size's wonton wrap. But if you like a thick wrap, you may use the round size's wonton wrap (wrap for dumpling, it is a bit thicker than usual Wonton wrap). I use 1 tsp of Corn flour to make Wonton crunchy.Happy Cooking ! :)
