I made this delicious Spaghetti with fresh tomato sauce. The reason is simple, ground beef is
on sale (again) as well as Hothouse Tomatoes which is the best in its
class (cmiiw). Besides, making Spaghetti is very easy and does not take much time.I think, everybody could make Spaghetti and knows the ingredients. The special thing about this recipe is the fresh tomato sauce that I blended from fresh Hothouse Tomatoes.
how to make Spaghetti Sauce with Fresh Tomatoes:
- 1 tbsp Canola oil for boiling the Spaghetti
- Half pack of Spaghetti (for 2 persons) & 5 cups of water
- 300 gr Lean Ground Beef
- 1-2 of big Hothouse Tomato & 1 cup of water
- 2 cloves of Garlic, minced
- 1 Yellow Onion, cut into 4 parts.
- 2 tbsp Tomato Ketchup (I used Heinz)
- 2 tsp Oregano
- Salt, Pepper and a pinch of Ground Nutmeg
- 1 tbsp White Sugar (optional)
- Boil the spaghetti with 4-5 cups of water and 1 tsp of salt. Don't forget to put Canola oil in order to avoid the spaghetti being stick together. Drain the spaghetti when it is well done.
- While boiling, in the saucepan, stir-fry minced Garlic with 1 tbsp Canola Oil until you smell the aroma of garlic, then put Ground Beef and stir them well. Lower the stove heat.
- Add Yellow Onion.
- Put Hothouse tomato in Blender with 1/2 cup of water to make Tomato juice.
- Mix tomato juice with Ground Beef, add Salt, Pepper, Nutmeg, and Sugar.
- Last, put Tomato Ketchup and taste it. You may add another spice if you like. Put Oregano as the final touch. It's done!

- Adding Oregano or thyme will definitely add wonderful aroma to any pasta cooking. You may add white mushrooms (Cremini) too, as garnish.
